One of the things that I love about having a garden at home is that we can have fresh veggies just about anytime that we need them, the bad thing is we need a bigger garden to really have all the fresh stuff I’d really like to have. With all these fresh veggies and all the fresh fruits, we get from the market comes the need of a really good cutting board. Now, I have several of them around the house, but I’m starting to really like my Epicurean non-slip cutting board much more than any of the others I have.
Why you ask?
Well, the main reason is because it’s a non-slip cutting board, it has these awesome little rubber corners to help keep the board in place while cutting. The one thing I’d really love more is to have a bigger board, I have the 11.5″ x 9″ and although it works great you just have a limited amount of space. For the Strawberry Pecan Salad, I made, there was just enough room for some cutting of the strawberries, pecans, and the lettuce all on one board without adding more dirty dishes!
I love that the board comes in three sizes and you have a few choices of corner colors and board colors. The prices are pretty reasonable also, $24.99 – $39.99. Oh and it’s a nice thin board too, 1/4 of an inch to be exact, which is great for squeezing into them small cupboard spaces.
Now, for this recipe it is pretty basic, but for allergy reasons. Most people love salads that have onions, tomatoes, and lots of other goodies in them, however, my husband is allergic to most of them. So, just know that you can add more items to this salad and it’ll be just as good, if not better! This recipe is just for one serving.
- Fresh lettuce mixed greens are best
- 3-4 small or 2 large strawberries
- 3-5 pecans
- Strawberry Vinaigrette dressing
Pick the lettuce straight from your garden, wash, and cut.
Slice strawberries into quarters; eighths if using large strawberries and chop the pecans into quarters.
Mix together in a bowl and add the desired amount of dressing.
Again, you can add additional items to this salad, make it to your liking!
