You received an invitation to a party, and you were asked to bring a dessert. You’ve been in the mood for Jell-O for a while, but you want to make the dessert more fun. One way to spice up a Jell-O dish for a party is with this party favor idea, especially during Halloween, of using non-medical syringes to make your regular Jell-O into Mad Scientist Jell-O Shot Syringes! They are a great treat for kids and adults alike.
We came up with the idea of this when we had to bring a dessert to a Blue & Gold event for the boy scouts and the theme for the party was Mad Scientists. We knew there were probably some food allergies so we wanted to have something that all the kids could enjoy. And with the theme being Mad Scientists it was either a brain mold for the Jell-O or the syringes.
The best part about this party favor idea, especially with kids, is that when the kids are done eating the Jell-O out of the syringes, they can fill the syringes with water and make them into a little water toy!
Mad Scientist Jell-O Shot Syringes
These are perfect! You can make them for kids and adults. Just be sure that you don’t make them together or mix them up. Keep track of which ones go to the kids and which ones go to the adults! You can make them as described below for the kids or you can make up a batch of Jell-O with Vodka to make the adult version of the Mad Scientist Jell-O Shot syringes Party Favors.
We used four boxes of Jell-O for our 25 syringes. However, they are pretty much filled to the top, which is about 3oz.

These look awesome!
So how did they work out? Did it make a huge mess with Jello being squessed out that little hole? It does seem a little Mad Scientist to put jello in syringes.
Sarah
Apparently they were a huge hit, after the boys had their Jell-O they decided to make squirt guns out of the syringes LOL Thankfully they weren’t too expensive because we didn’t get any of the syringes back!
What a cool idea!!! This would be great for my daughter’s soccer team!
How fun! I love working around a themed like that!
This would be a great idea for a Halloween party, too.
These are so cool! I need to try more fun things.
Where did you get the syringes from?
I can’t remember the place we order them from online, but I did find them on Amazon and there is a link to them in the post.
Does anyone know where to purchase the syringes? I looked up the link in post but those are actual pens. I would love to make this for my daughters graduation party.
Jaye, all of the links to the syringes go to the correct item now.
I found a pack of 25 jello shot syringes at party city for $14.99.
Is the jello fully formed? If so, does it go easily through the tip when you squeeze?
When you add the Jell-O to the syringes, it is still liquid. It will then firm up in the syringes like normal Jell-O once you place them into the refrigerator. Yes, it will easily go through the tip when you squeeze because these are non-medical grade syringes and the hole is much bigger. When I originally made these they were for elementary age kids, so they were non-alcoholic, and they had no problem getting the Jell-O out.
