There are days where you just want to sit back and relax and enjoy the sounds of nature. More often than not for us, this means listening to the waves crash against the shoreline. It’s the perfect place to reflect on your life. Think about what is to come. Reflect on the past. Think about your future. Think about life!
When you can get your child with ADHD to sit still and be mesmerized in the same way that ocean can do it with Thaddeus you just have to give in and go to the shoreline as often as you can and just have the family all do their own thing. You can even go on your own and do your own thing. It’s a great get-a-way from everything.
The great thing about living in Hawai’i is that there are so many places that we can pull off to the side of the road, next to the ocean, and just pick a spot and watch, think, listen. Just relax and enjoy the time and the beauty of nature. It is like meditation and yoga all in one. If you happen to do yoga, there are many places that would be perfect that are right near the coastline and out in the fresh open air.
Just remember, you don’t have to live in Hawai’i to have a great place like this. You can do it at any coastline, in a cabin in the woods, or just by taking a nice hot bath. Go out for coffee with your best friend or with a friend you haven’t seen in years. Take a 15-minute lunch break at work and use the remaining time to go out for a walk by yourself or with a co-worker. Even if it is just for a few minutes, that little bit of “quiet” time can be super relaxing, and it’ll allow you to reflect on life.
Good question…I think I like to reflect in my sunroom. I also like to reflect while at the computer, where I spend alot of time.
My favorite place to reflect is on our balcony. It may sound weird, but the sound of traffic going by really relaxes me.
I don’t really have an everyday “place”, but there is something soothing about my drive home from the office everyday. That half an hour alone in the car can really mean a lot sometimes.
Sure doesn’t compare to the ocean though!
My time is in my bedroom. I lock myself in there and meditate.
From time to time, I do reflect whenever I am alone, no matter where am I. How I wish I can spend time just listening to the ocean too!
