Finding a great place to eat when you are on vacation can be a major task at times. Especially if you are in a location you’ve never been, no one has recommended any place special, or you just happen to be in a place where letting you know a building is a restaurant is rare. That’s what took place when we were in Islamorada in the Florida Keys. Thankfully we found out about Bayside Gourmet from another guest at our resort, who just happened also to be from Michigan.
Bayside Gourmet
We weren’t sure what to think when we arrived. It looks more like a little cafe, but we wanted to try something other than the resort restaurants. Oh and a fellow Michigander said they had good food.
Who couldn’t love a restaurant with this type of signage?
Islamorada’s best kept dining secret
If the signs outside and inside don’t tell you that you are in for a treat, the staff sure will! We were greeted and seated almost immediately by probably the most friendliest wait staff we’ve come across. This wasn’t just the first time we ate there, but each and every time.
The food was delicious, and we had a great time chatting with the waitresses we had during the week we were in the Keys and ate at the Bayside Gourmet. Which we were there repeatedly during that week.
We tried several of their menu items. We were never disappointed by the amount of food, taste of the food, or even the cost. Probably one of the best-priced restaurants we went to, and the portions were great too!
If you ever visit the Florida Keys and are in Islamorada, you have to try Bayside Gourmet!
**I was not compensated in any way to write this post, I just really liked the food, staff, and restaurant enough to write about it.
It’s always nice when people share positives without anything in return. Sounds like a great place.
You’re not even kidding! While on vacation, you never know what you’re going to get when going out to eat. LOVE the photo by the way.
It sounds wonderful. I’m wanting another vacation already.
I’ve never been to the Florida Keys but have always wanted to go. Thanks for the tip – I’ll keep that in mind if we ever make it down there.
This looks great! Love their signage too. :)
