I came up with this Triple Chocolate Chip batch of cookies based on the Double Chocolate Caramel Cookies recipe I previously posted about. Instead of adding in the caramel, I added another set of Chocolate Chips! The more chocolate the better, that’s what I always say.
Triple Chocolate Chip Cookies
What can I say? I love chocolate and there really isn’t much better than a chocolate chip cookie, especially when it is triple chocolate! If you are a chocolate lover you will love this recipe! If you don’t like as much chocolate then see the end of the post for more information.
Triple Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Cookie Dough
- 1 cup butter softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 ounces semi-sweet chocolate melted
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Previously made Chocolate Cookie Dough
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and place foil sheets on the countertop for cooling the cookies
- Beat butter and sugar in a large bowl at high speed until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add melted chocolate and mix well.
- Add flour, baking powder, and salt; mix well.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop dough about golf ball size onto a baking sheet(s).
- Bake 11 to 13 minutes. Cool, 2-3 minutes on the cookie sheet and then move to foil sheets to completely cool.
Notes
Obviously, you don’t need to make this recipe with the chocolate cookie dough if you think it’ll be too much chocolate for you. You can even make it with only one kind of chocolate chips or any variety of chocolate chips you wish.
These Triple Chocolate Chip cookies are great any time of the year. However, I love to make them during the Christmas holiday season and share them with friends and family and even with our local delivery personnel. They love receiving fresh baked cookies.
