Yesterday I had a nice training walk. While hubby and son were draining the pool to get some nice fresh water in it, I went for my Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure® training walk. I headed out, wearing my hip pack; packed with my phone (to listen to music and keep track of my walk), two water bottles (one with ice water and one with ice & Gatorade), and my Keep Going® bandana. I was able to walk at my own pace the entire way, listing to my music, and just looking around the neighborhood.
Didn’t see too much out of the ordinary or anything that made me want to take a picture to share with y’all, but I enjoyed my 5-1/2 mile walk, in one hour and 39 minutes (give or take a few seconds). If you’ve been checking my training, you’ll recognize the route I took, as I’ve taken it a few times now.
I’m really getting used to using the Walkmeter app for the iPhone, even played some music while using it and remembered to put it in sleep mode so it wouldn’t drain the battery. Not only did it not drain the battery, but I was also Tweeting and Facebooking while walking and had plenty of battery left to get me home. Just in case, I had my Energizer® Energi To Go® Portable Charger with me just in case I needed it.
Tomorrow will mark exactly 2 weeks until the Michigan Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure® event
I can’t believe it’s almost here! Family will be coming into town tomorrow for the weekend, so I’ll be switching my training days (Saturday and Sunday) around so I’m home most of the time they are here. So instead of doing 18 miles on Saturday and 8 miles on Sunday, I’ll switch them and try to get a full 8 miles in on Saturday and 18 miles on Sunday. I’m pushing to make that 18 miles, I have two weekends to do it before the actual event, so I’m going to Keep Going® and get it done this weekend!
This weekend Tésa, the Cleveland Keep Going® Blogger, will be doing her event. Stop by her website and let her know you are thinking of her and show her support for taking 3 days of her busy schedule to participate in this wonderful event!
Oh yeah! Check it out, I’m in the news!

I give you so much credit for doing this. I’m not one to really exercise but I do enjoy walking. However, I have never come even close to doing what you’re doing. Truly an inspiration. Good luck to you and Yay! for Energizer!
