Today’s house hunting

So today we went looking at houses.  We took pictures from two of the houses, but they aren’t worth posting :toofunny

The first house we went to was mainly for the hell of it.  They are asking $10,000 more than our max that we want to spend.  House # 1 It wasn’t the greatest or the worst of the houses.  Needed LOTS of work and LOTS of cleaning.  Not worth the money or the work needed to finish it.

The next house we went to, also one Andrea suggested.  House # 2 This house looks great outside but DESTROYED on the inside.  The basement had been flooded for MONTHS and about 4-1/2 feet of water flooded.  Filthy inside of it and I wouldn’t be surprised if it got demolished.

Either this house or the one just before it the main level floors were sinking and sloping and anything else you could think of….can’t remember which because I didn’t like either house :giggle

The next house was this old farm house….with updates.  House # 3 It’s a cute little house, but still needs some work.  Didn’t take any pictures, although this is the one we liked the most.  We didn’t take pictures because someone still lives there and we felt weird even looking into the closets.  The only downfall of the house is it is small.  Small rooms and a short basement…..if you put a ceiling in, Brandon couldn’t stand straight up :giggle and it’s right on Auburn Road and it’s a busy street.  Price is higher than we like, but it’s definitely worth it and wouldn’t surprise us if they’d take less since it does still need some work.

Next house was originally my favorite.  Brandon really liked it other than the no basement part.  House looks great in the pictures….  House # 4 MAJOR DUMP inside of it :( The rooms they show are exactly as they look in the pictures…except the bathrooms.  They look as though they were still being updated/renovated.  The master bedroom, which isn’t shown in any pictures has holes in the walls and still needs major finished.  Their was mouse shit in the kitchen cabinets (only downfall of that room).  If it weren’t for the shit, I would still consider the house, but I’d hate to take the chance of the mice still being in the house.  They renovated the garage into a “play room” or something  :toofunny you can’t park a car in it right now, but it’s something that you can easily fix without any problem.

Final house was a long shot.  House # 5 I knew there was something odd about it because of the price for the size.  It was completely gutted and they started to remodel it, but never finished.  There was no carpeting, railings, ceiling (in some areas).  We never got to get inside of it.  When we got their another Realtor was their and apparently it was sold yesterday.  He said we could still go in and look, but the “new” owners took the door knob off so we couldn’t.  House wasn’t finalized, so we had every right to enter, but all we needed was to look inside.  You couldn’t move it.  They got an excellent deal, if they have the money to finish the work.

So, it’s back to the drawing board to see if we find anything else we may like.  We may still consider the old farm house one, but who knows.
