First, I am no expert and I am not a CPA. However, since I have just finished my associates degree in Accounting (and Computer Information Systems) I wanted to share with my readers some of the most common tax tips. Information I will be providing will be verifiable and I will support my tips with links. Consider this some free advise from someone who has a long time passion of wanting to be a CPA and does her own taxes and taxes for a few others.
Over the next week or so, I will be posting tips in different areas that all pertain to you filing your income taxes before the April 15, 2010 deadline.
If there is something particular you would like me to cover, please leave a comment and I will do my best to answer these questions.

Hey Shawn,
I’ve used TAX ACT for several years now in completing our taxes. Do you recommend this one or is there a service that is better? I am just now getting all my info organized and haven’t begun yet.
I actually use Turbo Tax to do our taxes. I think it’s really your preference on which you use. If you are used to using Tax Act, then and you are comfortable with it, then I don’t see a reason to switch. You can always try out different ones, you don’t pay until you are ready to file AND you can see what your refunds/payments will be before you have to file.
