Be ready for another update no later than Saturday regarding the houses we look at!

We are planning to go look at another house, but who knows what we’ll do.  We looked at the house some months ago and it was nice but went pending before we could decide if we wanted it or not, but now it’s back on the market so we’ll see.

So, I called our agent and asked her to check into the The first house and make sure that it would go FHA and if so to enter a bid for us.  So, again, we’ll be waiting to hear back.

This is really getting tiresome :(( and I’m starting to not like house hunting or shopping anymore

One more house out of our sights :(( I sure hope we find something soon, we’re both getting tired and discouraged with all the bad luck we’ve been having.

The first house worth talking about, we also looked at the day before and had to go back for another look and to take pictures.  Very nice house, still has many of the 1950′s features from when it was built, which we both really liked.  It has Pro’s and Con’s as do all houses.  The main Con for me is that the fireplace is in the basement, which to me is pointless.  The main Con for Brandon is that the upstairs is actually pointless for him because he can’t stand up and walk, which you will see when you look through the pictures. Some Pro’s for the house is that it is very close to work and an area we know, it has a decent size yard, it’s livable as of right now and really doesn’t need much work.

The second house worth talking about is a nice house in a nice neighborhood, more of a country setting, but still city like.  We took a lot of pictures of this house and about the only problelm we really seen with the house is the need for new carpeting throughout.  This house would be a much further drive for work, but it has more features and we’re both leaning towards most.

We’ll probably think about the houses for a couple days and then make our decision if we want to bid or keep looking.

1st house, it’s close to work and a cute little house that has everything we want.  Still old fashion in some ways, but we like the way it looks.  Here are the pictures we took of the house.  This house has an estimated $1817 in taxes a year.

2nd house, it’s a big house, country like, lots of room, but further from work.  We wanted to be out in the country anyway and this is an awesome area.  Has Indian Springs Metro Park right in our back yard, Big Lake not too far from our house.  Here are the pictures we took of the house.  This house has an estimated $2617 in taxes a year.

Now for the research on each house and to see which we’d chose.

We went house hunting today.  Nothing major to report.  All three houses we looked at SUCKED :( but we’ll be going out again tomorrow.

Anyway, we went and looked at three local houses.  The first wasn’t too bad.  Needed some cleaning and updating but didn’t move me.  We took many pictures, but frankly I’m not going to waste the time uploading them as we aren’t going to pursue the house any.

The second house we looked at, actually looked to be the better of the three, at least to me.   That is until we walked into it.  MOLD, you could just smell it when you walked into the house.  So, we turned around and walked right back out.

The last house, would have been a great house but it looked as though the people who lived in it before it was forclosed didn’t bother to clean it at all, EVER!  We determined that an Indian family had to of lived there as it smelled of curry.  I couldn’t finish walking through the house because of the smell.  I said to Brandon, “I’m done here, I can’t stand the smell anymore and I couldn’t imagine how long it would take to get the smell out if we were to purchase the house”.  So we left.  Now let me say, I don’t mean to offend any Indian people with this post.  This was just the first time I had ever smelled curry and it was very strong.

Anyway, we will be going tomorrow to look at 3 more homes.  One of them is one we’d really like to get, that is, if it is as nice looking in person as it is based on the pictures in the listing.  So expect another update tomorrow!

The first was this house.  Nice looking house from the outside, but wouldn’t pass FHA by a long shot.  No carpeting in some rooms, in fact there were more rooms without carpet or tile that there were with in just the few rooms we looked at.  Kind of walked in, looked at the living room, kitchen, and went upstairs and seen the bedrooms and walked out.  Didn’t go to the lower level at all.

The next house was this house.  Decent house, looked cramped in it though.  We think it may have looked cramped due to all the stuff the people living in it have.  The main floor is pretty nice, but the 1/2 bath is more of a closet.  The basement is really only a half a basement.  One half is a room with a gas fireplace, it’s about the size of a normal living room.  The rest of the basement is really just a wide hallway with the washer & dryer in it and a few shelves (kind of like a pantry).

The final house was this house. this one was very dated.  The guy got the house from his dad (not sure if his dad died, went into a home, or what) but it wasn’t horrid or anything.  Big house with nice size rooms but needed updating.  The basement unfortunately sucked.  It’s got one room that right now is converted into a bedroom, it’s a good size room but you can’t do nothing in it.  The rest of the basement was an L shaped hall way with the washer, dryer, and furnace, etc.  it was so cramped that I couldn’t walk through it and hold a basket of clothes at my side (would have to walk with it in front of me).

So, it’s back to the drawing board and searching for another set of houses to look at.

Brandon likes this house more than the one we went to last night, but I like the other one better…unfortunately that one is pending a sale already :(

Not bad, you can see pictures HERE that we took.  Looks just like the last house we looked at, same layout and and much better neighborhood.  Only downfall from what we’ve seen so far is that in the notes of the listing it say:

THIS IS A COUNTRYWIDE VA REO PROPERTY ALL OFFERS NEED TO PROVIDE A PRE-APPROVAL LETTER BY A COUNTRYWIDE BRANCH OFFICE.

Which makes me wonder if they’ll ever sell the house if they’ll only sell the house to someone that gets a loan from their own bank.  So I’ll be calling Tracie tomorrow to find out about this comment on the listing and see if we could make a bid on the house since we aren’t using Countrywide or what.

We are going to look at another one tomorrow right down the street from where I work, literally a 5 minute drive from work, at most!  Going there during lunch.  Will post pictures of that one tomorrow.  Then on Saturday we are looking at another 3 houses
