Right now there is a law in, which prevents consumers from suing a drug company. Is this really a good thing? Yes it is, why? Because if you choose to take a drug to help with a medical problem, even though you know of the side effects and risks, the drug company should not be held responsible for anything that happens to you due to taking their drug. The FDA requires drug companies to put labels on all drugs exposing any health risks from taking a drug.
This law helps protect the drug companies from money grubbing people who want to sue for any reason they can to make a few million dollars. Every time a person sues a drug company for problems they encountered or their loved one encountered due to taking a drug, it causes problems for everyone else. How? Because then the drug company has to either raise the price of a drug to make up for their outrageous loss or take the drug off the market completely, which hurts others who are taking it and having no problems.
