So much to do, so little time

Energizer® Keep Going® Blogger Banner

We are almost there, just 24 more days until the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure® walk hits Michigan!  I can’t believe how quickly the time has gone buy!  It feels just like yesterday when I announced that I was chosen as the Keep Going® Blogger for Michigan and here we are just 24 days away from the event!

I’ve already booked my hotel stay for Thursday night so I’m nice and close to the opening ceremony on Friday morning.  I’ve started my online check-in process, but have to wait for part of it to be completed by someone else before I can finish, and I’m going to a packing workshop tonight so that I know what to pack and get all kinds of tidbits about what to bring, best way to pack, etc.  I’ve been doing my training, although I do need to step that up a bit, must get in at least one good weekend of walking 18/15 miles.

They have posted the cheering sections, so if you are in Michigan and would like to cheer me on or any of the other walkers, here’s where you can go and what times/days.

Cheering Stations

Public cheering stations are a great way to show your support along the route to encourage
walkers and let them know that you are with them every step of the way. Seeing familiar faces cheering them on can provide that extra burst of energy that gets them to take that next step or go the next mile. Create banners, hold up signs, bring some music and make some noise – anything to make them smile, get energized and keep walking.

Hopefully you can make it!

I’m still trying to figure out exactly how I’m going to do my posts while on the walk, but I’ve got some time yet to figure this out.  The hardest part is going to be uploading a video or two to my posts unless I use my iPhone and cut the videos to be pretty short clips.  Otherwise, I will have to have Brandon meet me at a cheering station and give him the video camera and have him upload the video(s) so I can add them after I get to camp then meet him at an early cheering station the next morning and start over :teehee .  My posts may or may not be very much during the actual events due to having to use my iPhone to type the posts, unless I dictate to Brandon and he types.  We’ll see.

I’ve been using my New Balance 760?s while training since they came in and I still need to write up my review on those and I’m about 99% positive that I’ll be wearing them for the walk, at least part of it.  I have to see if I’ll get another pair so I’m not wearing the same shoes all three days or if I’ll be wearing another brand.  I’ve got another pair that I really like, however I don’t know if I’ll wear them or not yet.  I’m also looking for some clothing and other gear to use during the walk.  If you would like to sponsor me, please contact me and we can see what we can work out.
