Are you a long distance driver? Do you need something that will not only entertain your child during those long drives but also want to make sure your child is comfy when they fall asleep in the car? We were recently introduced to SeatPets, the cushiony creature created to end the “Are we there yet?” and to help your child sleep better in the car.

Although we don’t take a lot of long drives throughout the year, we do take a couple. Or at least we try to take them. Our typical long distant drives are going from our place to my in-laws down in Kentucky. Driving from our place to their places is roughly 6-8 hours, depending on the number of stops and how long our lunch or dinner stop is. Take that drive and double it for a round trip and the fact that we usually do this for a long weekend trip; meaning we leave on Friday and come back on Sunday, it’s a long trip in a short time. There have been many times when Thaddeus has fallen asleep in the car on these types of trips and he doesn’t always look comfortable, especially now that he’s just in a basic booster seat.

I think of all those drives I took as a child when I would go up north with my grandmother to her place. It was just about every weekend that we would head up there and it was a two-hour drive. That doesn’t seem like much, but when you are about 10 years old, it’s long! I remember that I would always fall asleep in the car on the way up there due to leaving so early in the morning. Boy do I wish these were around back then! Besides the fact that we didn’t have booster seats back then, I was able to lay in the back seat for the trip and get as comfortable as possible, but having something to cuddle with would have been great!

SeatPets just strap onto the seat belt and can adjust up or down as needed for the size of your child. They can also be carried around with the child and go wherever they go! Some of the great features of the SeatPets are that they come in bright colors and that they have several pockets for storing items. There are three different SeatPets; Whish is orange and can be for a boy or a girl, Awty is pink and is perfect for the girls, and Airheart is blue and great for boys!

Hmm, I think our longest trip has been from our home in Kentucky to the beach in North Carolina. Not too bad, but we split it into 2 days!
Me and my little girl packed our bags and drove from NY to FL only making one stop in GA … She was a good girl but could have defiantly used a seatpet..

So far we’ve only traveled a few hours from home (4 hours tops), just around the state. But we are traveling for the first time this Christmas (with my mom, sister & her family). Its supposed to be a 12.5 hour drive, we’ll see what it ends up being. I am so excited but just as nervous about the long drive and the kids.
About 6 hours
3 days!! In a car from Colorado to California. They were SO GOOD!!! Until the night time in the Hotel room. I am soooooooooooo sorry to people on both sides of us!!
We are leaving for our road trip tomorrow going on a long road trip for 2 days straight cant wait to try out our SeatPets we bought “Awty” she kind of looks like my daughter. I hate looking over and seeing my daughters head all slumped over. She likes to put all her snacks/toys in the side pockets.
I used to be a truck driver, and would take the kids when they could go. We went from East to West
Longest car ride was 6 hours. That is LONG when you have little ones! They get bored. But that was before SeatPets. I’m sure wtih a SeatPet it would feel half as long :)
I put my kids through two cross country trips CA to VA and Va to CA. I did space them 5 years apart
I drove from New Orleans to Washington State when my kids were boys were four and six years old. The trip took nearly a week and we were all very happy to be out of that car by end of that ride :)

Over the summer I drove from Michigan to Washington state with my kids. We were on the road for 5 days each way. The total miles was just under 5000. And these SeatPets would have been great to have with us!
Our longest car trip was an accident. We set out to the West coast of Florida and discovered there wasn’t anywhere to camp. We headed back east to find a campground that was designed for tent camping and ended up driving completely through the Ocala National Forest back to the Eastern Coast. We ended up camping a few miles from our home… this was after an entire round trip across the state in order to end up 5 miles from home! :)
From the thumb of Michigan to the center of Wisconsin.
When I was little my parents loaded up the station wagon with 4, kids, a grandma and a dog or two and drove from Boston. MA to West Palm Beach FL.
We drove from Colorado to North Carolina in one shot because we didn’t have that much time to waste…It was the longest car ride EVER and never will I ever do it again…over 30 hours including meal stops and gas. covered like 1700 miles!!!!
The longest car ride we went on so far was this past summer when we went to Day out with Thomas. It took us 4 1/2 hrs to get there & 4 1/2 hrs back. He did pretty good & we had minimal complaints. :-)
9 hours from Philadellphia area to visit family in North Carolina and it was HELL! lol
