It was about 5AM four mornings ago when I woke up feeling a tingly sensation on my upper lip under my mustache. I knew right away what was to come, I’ve been there before… many times. I hate cold sores! I hate them! And it just so happens that this one was coming on right as I started a new job, where appearance is important. It’s strange how they just “know” when the worst time to pop up is.

For the first day I didn’t do anything about it. Sure, there was a little swelling, but nothing that was visible, especially since I am fortunate enough to be able to hide them under my whiskers. The second morning however, was a different story. I woke up again early in the morning with my upper lip swollen like someone had popped me a good one for smarting off. I looked like a duck! Later in the morning Shawn Ann handed me the Lysine to use. I remember us getting it in to review, but it had totally slipped my mind until she gave it to me. So how is that for luck? Or maybe getting the package in the mail was an omen, who knows, either way I used it.

So how well did it work? Well, my lip is still a little bit swollen, but you couldn’t tell it by looking at me. There is no scabbing, no sightly redness, and I can once again drink from a pop bottle without having to shove the entire thing in my mouth. On top of that, even though this stuff still has a medicine like taste to it, it’s sweet! I think I read that honey was an ingredient in it, which is a good thing because nothing is worse than having an astringent tasting medication on your lips for 3 or 4 straight days.
