  2. i love the holidays! every Christmas we decorate with a tree and bright lights.

    • We love to decorate our tree, in the past we’ve let Thaddeus put the star on the top a few of the years to make him feel special (since he couldn’t do many ornaments himself).

  3. Doing a special dinner for the two of us with a decadent chocolate dessert.

  4. Patti Bright says:

we do a couple fun things every year…one of our favorites is going to our towns little Christmas parade, another is taking a hayride where we sing Christmas carols & an all time favorite is sprinkling reindeer food outside on Christmas eve…even as the kids got older, they still love to do this :) plb8156@aol.com

    • Thaddeus has gotten into wanting to sprinkle reindeer food outside. He got some one year from one of the clerks at the Kroger we shop at and he thought it was the coolest thing!

    • We’ve always had something different with our family since it was divided, but I sure miss going to my grandparents house for Christmas. As a child we went every year and it was always so much fun!

  6. Patricia Crowley says:

We do a family Secret Santa-switching names every week between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We’ll do little random acts or leave a special treat everyday for that person. For each thing we do, we put a piece of yarn (straw) in a little manger. Finally, on Christmas Eve, Baby Jesus has a nice soft bed!

  7. The only tradition we have is a lot of baking. I love to make persimmon cookies, cranberry-orange bread, pumpkin-nut bread. Then my DIL makes candies.

  10. It has been a family tradition to watch It’s A Wonderful Life around Christmas time and of course, all the different Christmas movies that they show on TV-Charlie Brown Christmas, Frosty, etc. I’ve done it since I was little and am happy to be able to continue this with my girls.

  18. Everyone has to wait at the top of the stairs together before anyone (but the “adults” making coffee) can come downstairs to see the tree and open presents. We did this when we were little and now we do it with my kids, only my parents go downstairs before the “hordes”, all of my generation and my children wait at the top of the stairs.
