Happy 2nd Birthday Xavier!

Who can I throw this to, Thaddeus isn't around?

Warning: If you are uneasy about seeing babies hooked up to machines, etc., you may not want to read this post. Today my little guy turns 2! I can't believe that it's been 2 years already since Xavier was born.  The days, weeks, months, and years are just passing us by like there is no tomorrow! If you've read Shawn Ann's World over the last 2-1/2 years you will know that these last 25 months have been touch and go at times and even very frightening.  You will remember that it all really started on April 12, 2011, when I was admitted to the hospital and feared that either something … [Read more...]

Xavier’s 1st Carousel Ride

Xavier on the Carousel

We recently took a trip to the Detroit Zoo and Xavier got to ride the Carousel for the first time, ever!  I'd say he did pretty darn good, not only did he hold on all on his own, but he only took his hands off the pole once and for just a short second. As you can tell, he really did enjoy his ride, I think he would have been happy as could be to just sit there all day riding it. … [Read more...]

Playing in the Yard

Marching through the backyard

It's amazing how much things can change within a year.  This time last year there was no way that Xavier would be outside playing in the yard the way he does now. He was barely walking, in fact he was really just walking around furniture and anything he could hold on to. Now, he climbs up on this picnic table without a problem! Today, however, he is all over the place. It's a good thing we have a decently fenced in yard!  We still have to keep a good eye on him because there are spots in our fence that need to be fixed and our gate opens pretty easily and he could escape without us … [Read more...]

2 Years Ago Today…

Xavier Swinging

I was admitted to the hospital.  I went in for my special ultrasound to check the fluid flow through the umbilical cord and although the results were better than the previous test, they immediately decided to admit me to the hospital. It was the most scariest thing I had ever gone through. I was healthy, Xavier seemed to be doing OK, but yet I was being admitted into the hospital. It was originally planned that I was only going to be there for a few hours, then it turned into over night, and by the evening they didn't know when I'd get to go home! Thankfully I only had to spend a week … [Read more...]

Halloween 2012

20121031_180401

Hope your Halloween was as good as ours!  This was Xavier's first Halloween, at least the first he really participated in.  I took the boys around our neighborhood and did some Trick-or-treating, basically to the houses right on our block, which took about 30 minutes.  Then hubby took Thaddeus around the other streets. The only disappointment I had was the lack of care and respect from many of the older kids and PARENTS!  Hello!  Trick-or-treating is meant for the SMALL kids, not teenagers!  Especially if you are NOT in a costume!  I hate that we had many teenagers come up for candy … [Read more...]

18 Month Comparison

Thaddeus 18 Months, Xavier 17 Months

It has been a while since I last did a comparison of Thaddeus and Xavier, so I figured there was no time like the present! Not really much of a comparison like in the past of who did what at what age.  Xavier has just about caught up on everything or is getting there quickly.  For instance he's started walking, finally, and within the last week I posted the video of Xavier Walking he as gone from taking a few steps without trouble to full on walking. He's even trying to run at times to get to where he wants to go.  His biggest downfall right now is that he still prefers a bottle over a … [Read more...]

Video of Xavier Walking

Xavier Walking

I couldn't believe I was able to capture this on video! He's taken 2-5 steps at a time and then plops to the ground, but this time he walked about 5-6 feet! I think we are in trouble now! We've already had to gate off about half of our living room to keep him out of things, with him walking, even for short distances, is going to make this very challenging! … [Read more...]
