The Arrival of Xavier – Part 2

Xavier

Part 1 of The Arrival of Xavier! It’s now Sunday, and Xavier still wasn’t very active, so after lunch we headed to the hospital to see if everything is OK.  The visit started off as just a normal visit.  Got put into a room and hooked up onto the NST monitor and everything was looking good.  They also did an ultrasound and he was moving around just fine and passed all the tests, just as he had been at my regular check-ups.  The only problem now was that I had very high blood pressure, so they decided to keep me in the hospital! Having the feeling that I'd end up staying at the {Keep on Reading}

The Arrival of Xavier – Part 1

It all really started last week.  I went in for my normal 3 days a week check-up on Monday (May 16th) and everything was looking good except for the blood flow to the baby.  This wasn't the first time that this was a problem, the last time this happened they admitted me to the hospital.  This time I was a little more fortunate. Instead of admitting me, they wanted me to come back the next day for another follow-up.  Along with the follow-up, they wanted to get me another dose of steroid shots to help out our little guy. On Tuesday, May 17th, I had my follow-up and the 2nd dose of the {Keep on Reading}

Pregnancy Update and New Ultrasound Pictures

5/4/11 3D New Ultrasound Machine

Everything seems to be going good with this pregnancy, they still have me being monitored three days a week to make sure that it doesn't take a turn for the worse but so far everything is looking great!  I'm still on a modified bed rest, the doctor won't budge on that and so I will not be going back to work. Our little guy is growing, but we won't know how much until next week. Here are some recent ultrasound pictures.  I won't post them all that I've gotten because just about every time I go in for a check-up they are giving me pictures :toofunny so as you can imagine, I have a lot {Keep on Reading}

I’m home from the hospital

I got home yesterday :woohoo and I've been home for about 24 hours now.  It's great not to have to get hooked up on the machines several times a day and woken up throughout the night. I'm pretty much on bed rest, although I have the same privileges as I had when I was in the hospital.  I can walk around and what not, but they don't want me doing much else.  In other words, no major cleaning, carrying full laundry baskets, etc., so I can't get too much done around the house.  The good thing is I can continue to do my reviews and I've got a few things here to review and a few other {Keep on Reading}

27 Week Belly Picture

27 Week Belly Picture

Picture was taken I think at 26 Weeks 6 days or so, but close enough to 27 weeks!  Picture was taken with my iPhone, so it's not the greatest picture, but it's what I have access to right now. I'll probably be doing a weekly picture since I'm stuck in the hospital so let's hope for major progress and a bigger belly each week! {Keep on Reading}

Help us name our baby

We've come up with several names, however these two are the ones we seem to like the most. To help you with your choice, his older brother is Thaddeus Alexander. {Keep on Reading}

I have been admitted into the hospital

Yesterday I went in for my special ultrasound to check the fluid flow through the umbilical cord.  The results were better than last week, however they decided to take over my prenatal and put me as a high risk and have admitted me into the hospital. It started off I was just going to get admitted to get some steroid shots to help the baby's development in the event that they have to deliver early.  They said I'd get the first shot and would possibly have to stay in the hospital over night to get the 2nd shot exactly 24 hours later.  This then turned into a full on monitoring, which I {Keep on Reading}

25 Week Ultrasound for Growth Check-up

So on Tuesday afternoon I had to go in for another ultrasound to check the growth of our little guy.  This all goes back to my quad screening coming back abnormal and his measurement being a little small at the time of that ultrasound.  They decided they wanted me to come back for more ultrasounds to keep an eye on his growth. Anyway, I went in on Tuesday and everything seemed to be OK until they got the percentages back in from his measurements.  He was at a lower percentile than they wanted so they had the doctor come in to talk to me. She didn't go into much of a detail with me, {Keep on Reading}

Doctors really do need better customer service

:soapbox For the most part I really hate doctors.  They get paid way too much for the little bit they do when you go in to see them and their customer service really does suck.  At least for most of them, they seem to need to send their personnel to take a customer service class or something! Back on March 3rd, I had a prenatal visit where my OBGYN wanted me to schedule an appointment with a kidney specialist because of the protein showing up in my urine.  We aren't sure if there is a problem or if it's just something that naturally happens with me, so he wants me to get it checked {Keep on Reading}
