Still a lot of touch ups to do and more dinosaurs to be painted.

The nice thing about moving the furniture is now I know for sure where to and not to paint dinosaurs!  Definitely need to get Xavier a dresser, I don’t think we’ll be able to continue to use bins to hold his clothes.  We also need to get him a new bed set for the crib to match the room.  Although I love the jungle designs for both of his crib sets, they just don’t match the room!

Anyway, here’s a couple of pictures of some Dinosaurs and other items for the theme.  I also edited the images so you can see the colors a bit better.  I’m not sure if they are exact colors, but they are much closer to the real colors used than in earlier pictures.

Once I’m all done I’ll use my DSLR with the Lightscoop and hopefully we’ll get true color!

The blue for the sky isn’t as blue in the pictures as it is in person.  I’ll try to get better pictures the next time.  I still have to do the base boards and the window and door trim, but that’s going to wait  until I have at least some of the dinosaurs done and maybe even start moving the furniture.

So far we are liking the way the room looks, the colors actually go together better than I thought they would.  I thought the brown would have been a little lighter in color, but that’s OK.  Depending on how Xavier is tomorrow, I’ll probably get a few dinosaurs painted.

That hasn’t gone as planned!

Friday morning, around 12:30AM or so, Brandon was woken up by Thaddeus because he puked all over his bed.  I was woken up not long after from Brandon shuffling through the linen closet for new sheets and blankets.  Then around 6:30AM I woke up and couldn’t stay out of the bathroom.  Needless to say, yesterday was a day of me and Thaddeus fighting over the bathroom.

Yup!  We were hit with a stomach bug!

Needless to say, I didn’t have any time to do any painting.  I didn’t even get a chance to do my class work Yeah, way to start out a new class, miss the first assignment!

Anyway, I’m feeling a big better today and hopefully can get caught up on everything.  I’ve already caught up on my school work, now I just need to wait for Xavier to wake up from his nap and hopefully then I can get some more painting done.  Once I get the main background done I’ll post an update with some pictures of how it’s looking.

Not anymore!

We have moved our bedroom to the smallest bedroom because it’s up at the front of the house we wanted the boys to have rooms next to each other rather than one near the front door.  Anyway, Thaddeus is getting the master bedroom.  Lucky him! Xavier is getting Thaddeus’ old room.

Because we weren’t planning on putting Xavier into a room of his own until he was at least a year old, we bought him cute baby bedding, jungle design, and even did a review on another jungle design. Needless to say, these are not going to match his new bedroom that is of transportation!  But what do ya do?

Thaddeus however, has two bedroom sets.  He’s always been into Dinosaurs and before we moved here we had the Dinosaur set and then did his bedroom in transportation.  Why?  Hell if I know why I chose the Transportation theme when I did the review.  Anyway, we now have a Dinosaur theme from My Wonderful Walls and I’ve started the painting process!

Last night I got the ceiling all taped off and the first coat of the paint for the sky done.  I’ll be working on the second coat today and maybe even getting first coat of the ground done.  With the Transpiration theme we actually used the two wall colors recommended for the theme, but we didn’t want to do it again this time around because the blue was the exact same blue and the green was just a little different.  I didn’t want the rooms the same colors.

Where do we go from here?

Well, there’s still a lot of painting to do for this room.  I should have the sky and ground done by tomorrow and then I need to start with the stencils.  That’ll be the long part because there are a lot of stencils and the room is pretty darn big.

For Xavier’s room we have to remove Thaddeus’ name from the plane banner and put Xavier’s name there.

We have to move all of Thaddeus’ stuff to his new room, move all of Xavier’s stuff into his new room. We’ve already moved all of our stuff into our new room but we need a new bed, badly!  Thaddeus could use a new bed too; he just has a basic twin bed frame.  We could all use new dressers, especially Xavier since he doesn’t even have one!

Again, I’ll go through each milestone hit so far by one or both boys.

Slept through the night – Thaddeus was sleeping through the night by the end of September (3 months of age), Xavier still wakes up 1-2 times a night.

Holding own bottle – Thaddeus did that mid December (5 months of age), Xavier still hasn’t done this although he tries to.

Smiled – Both showed their first smile in August (1 month of age for Thaddeus – 3 months of age (1 month corrected) for Xavier).

Laughed out loud -  both did this in October (3 months of age for Thaddeus – 5 months of age (3 months corrected) for Xavier).

Rolled over – Thaddeus rolled stomach to back in October (3 months of age) and back to stomach in November (4 months of age), Xavier rolled stomach to back in early December (7 months of age – 5 months corrected) and he still hasn’t rolled back to stomach although he’s just about there.

Eating solid foods – Thaddeus did this in October (3 months of age), Xavier wants nothing to do with them yet!

Some of the things Thaddeus started doing after his first New Years:  Sat unsupported, played peek-a-boo, and drank from a cup.  Xavier loves when I play peek-a-boo with him, although he can’t do it himself.

So, Xavier isn’t too far behind in his milestones and even on track, however he has passed Thaddeus when it comes to teeth.  Thaddeus didn’t get his 1st tooth until January (6 months) and his 2nd tooth came in March (8 months) and Xavier got his 1st tooth in November (6 months of age – 4 months corrected) and his 2nd in December (7 months of age – 5 months corrected).

As far as size goes, they are actually pretty close in size.  This surprises me!

Thaddeus at his 4 month checkup (November) he was 25″ long and 14lbs 12oz
Xavier  at his 6 month (4 month corrected) checkup (November) he was 23 1/2″ long and 10lbs 1oz

Who thinks that Xavier will not only catch up, but will pass Thaddeus in size?

And then we had a setback.

It started out just being cold sweats.  Then it turned into cold sweats and wanting to sleep all the time.  Then he stopped wanting to eat very much.  He went from eating 6-8 ounces every 3-5 hours to taking at most 2 ounces at a time.  Some times we were lucky to get him to even take an ounce!

On Sunday, December 18th, we brought him back to the ER because I didn’t want him to take too long to fight whatever he was fighting and end up sicker because he wasn’t eating enough.  After 5 hours of being in the ER (I’ll go more into details about this part in another post) we finally got him a room and let him settle in for the night and we headed home to get back to bed (it was 3:30AM when we arrived back home).  Thaddeus stayed home from school that day since he had only had a few hours of sleep and both of us slept until almost 10AM, OMG that felt so good!  We then headed back to the hospital.

Xavier was already looking better, smiling some and already eating almost back to the way he had been.  They weren’t sure what it was, but knew he was fighting an infection so they were giving him antibiotics and some steroids because he was having a little trouble with his breathing. They wanted to keep him at least another day to keep an eye on him and make sure he continued to improve.  Plus, they wanted to get him off the oxygen.  The one nice thing about this visit is that since it was in the same month as his last visit to Pediatrics the same residents were on staff so he had the same resident as last time and he was familiar with his “normal vitals”.

He is released!

Xavier was able to come home Wednesday night!  He was released on the oxygen again, because they didn’t start weaning him off of it when the resident told them to, which put him about a half a day behind!  Anyway, he’s home!

We’ve already weened him down from 1/4 liter to 3/16 liter and all day yesterday he was completely off the oxygen and I put it back on him last night to be sure he’d be fine throughout the night and so Brandon wouldn’t have to fumble through the night trying to get it on him.

Anyway, he is back home for Christmas and he’s back to his normal self!

But he did have some fun with them!
