Recipe: Grilled Seasoned Sweet Corn

Grilled Seasoned Corn on the Cob

One of my all time favorite "veggies" is corn on the cob. I know it's more of a grain than a veggie, but it's my veggie!  I remember growing up and going up to my grandmothers property up on Lake Huron, before her house was built, and we'd camp out on the weekends and we'd have corn on the cob. It was basically grilled, but instead of being cooked on the grill it would be wrapped in the foil and tossed in the fire pit to cook so it didn't take up precious room on the grill.  There were usually a lot of people up there during this time because they were all there helping my … [Read more...]

Adding Olay Regenerist to my Daily Routine with Giveaway

Olay Regenerist Products

As we get older we are always looking for ways to removes wrinkles, smooth the lines, and just look like we are 20 again!  So when I was contacted about an opportunity to receive a courtesy sample of Olay Regenerist products to try, I was all for it. Now, we all know that all products work differently for everyone and just because something works for you doesn't mean it'll work for me and what works for me might not work for you. So I am not going to make any claims about the Olay products and how great it does work or how terrible it is. I've used the Olay Regenerest … [Read more...]

Recipe: Grilled Seasoned Potatoes

Grilled Seasoned Potatoes

If you ever wonder where recipes come from, it's from people trying new ways of making something. I'm serious! Just a few weeks ago my husband decided he wanted baked potatoes but without turning on the oven. Now, normally we would just toss them in the microwave and be done with it. Nope, not this time. This time he decided he would put them on skewers and grill them with the steaks we were having for dinner that night. Grilled seasoned potatoes were introduced to our family and they are a hit! We even did up a pretty good size batch of them for the birthday party this past weekend and … [Read more...]

Recipe: Fresh Burgers with Oats & Worcestershire Sauce & EatSmart Scale Review

Bradon's Famous Burgers

One of my most favorite burgers is when my husband makes them from scratch. Fresh ground beef with a few little ingredients and BAM! you have an awesome fat and juicy burger!  Usually when we buy our fresh ground beef we buy it in bulk so that we can measure it out into our own portion sizes and perfect for our family size meals. Lately we've been using a new retro looking scale that we received from EatSmart for the purpose of review.  This isn't your ordinary scale, it's an actual retro looking scale that is not digital!  I love these kinds of scales because you are able to … [Read more...]

Recipe: Watermelon Fruit Bowl

Watermelon Fruit Bowl

This first recipe for the month of June, Farmers Market Recipes, is a super easy recipe and you can really add any fruit you want to it and make it your own. Ingredients Watermelon and assorted fresh fruits Directions First you will need to cut the watermelon in half.  Using a melon ball tool you will remove just about all the watermelon from within each half. Depending on the amount of fruit you have you may not want to put all the watermelon back into the "shell". Take any other melon type fruits and do the same thing as with the watermelon. To make it easier you can … [Read more...]

Wordy Wednesday – West Michigan Trip

2013 West Michigan Trip - The boys on Lake Michigan

This past weekend we took a family vacation to West Michigan. The trip started as a media trip for the family but we decided to extend the stay for some quiet time and family time visiting areas of Michigan that we have not been to. The trip was for a day at Michigan's Adventure, in which we received complementary passes for one day, the post about that is on Mitten Moms but I wanted to share with you many of the pictures from out complete trip (there may be a couple duplicates).  There are a lot of pictures and each will have their own little description. Enjoy, we sure did!  Oh and … [Read more...]
