Health & Fitness: Week 3 #NSNation

DSC_5756

It's hard to believe that I'm already starting week 3 on the Nutrisystem program! The weeks are going by quickly and the weight is coming off!  The best part of the program is that you can bring your foods with you if you happen to go on a staycation! We took another trip up to my grandmothers place this past weekend and I was able to pack up all my foods so I could stay on the program! I ended up having to adjust my schedule I made for last week a little because I didn't want to bring frozen meals with us, although I could have, so I changed to all pantry foods.  We packed lots of fresh … [Read more...]

Turning Pictures into Collages

You have probably been seeing many pictures I've posted lately have been collages.  I've been using CollageIt App from PearlMountain Technology to create these collages.  They also have a free version of CollageIt, which is just the same as the paid for version but you are limited to the number of photos per collage. Here's just a few of the collages I've made in the last month or so. I've started to incorporate the collages into my posts more because they allow me to have multiple images within one area and it also allows me to zoom into the better parts of the images, … [Read more...]

Michigan Dairy Farm Tour: Got Milk?

Gift Bag

I was recently given the opportunity to take a tour of a local dairy farm here in Michigan, with United Dairy Industry of Michigan and other Michigan (and Ohio) Bloggers! For this tour we were given the privilege of visiting the Goma Dairy Farm in Marlette, MI and meeting with the van den Goor family! When the van den Goor family originally purchased their farm in 1999 it started with 350 cows and has since grown to 2,700 cows that produce 29,000 gallons of milk each day!  That is about two milk trucks full! One of these trucks goes to a local Yoplait plant and the other goes to a … [Read more...]

My meals are scheduled!

DSCN3257

I have finally sat down and made out a menu for this week for my meals. It's been hard on me trying to figure out what to eat at each meal-time and now I have it all scheduled out! It's nothing major, just a little weekly calendar in Excel to help me make my meals a lot quicker and not doing it on the fly and it taking me much longer to get my meals. As you can see the only thing I didn't fill in was my Desserts, but that's because I want to do what I want each day and I may not feel like ice cream on a certain day or cookies on another day. I need to leave something up to surprise! … [Read more...]

Modern or Contemporary Bathroom?

Modern Designer Bathroom Vanity

When we purchased our home in 2009, we were in love with just about the entire place. It had everything that we were looking for when we were house hunting; hardwood floors, fireplace (we got two), attached garage, and a basement! The house had been on the market for about a year before we purchased it and they had pulled all the carpeting and put a fresh coat of paint throughout the home before we purchase it. I think this is why we liked it so much, had the carpeting remained and they hadn’t painted, we probably wouldn’t have given it a second look. There were two rooms in the house … [Read more...]
